RecoverMy.Video will shut down end of November 2021 (CET)

Dear users
I'm very sorry to say that I have to shutdown RecoverMy.Video at the end of November 2021 (CET).

The reason is that YouTube changed their YouTube developer policy which prohibits to monetize (ads, subscription) RecoverMy.Video. Even a donation based business model (e.g. patreon) is not allowed. I've clarified those options during a YouTube audit process which was initialized by myself.

Within the last 3 years my monthly costs (server, maintenance, services, etc.) went up steadily. So I had to make this decision, which wasn't easy for me, as I've got so much good feedback from you. Thanks a lot!

(Please use the Feedback Page if you want to comment on this)

And now the important part:

Please log in and download your list of your recovered video titles before November 30th 2021 (CET). You'll find an Export Tool in the main menu which will give you a text file with all of your recovered video titles.

What will happen after November 30th 2021 (CET)?

  • The access permissions you gave to RecoverMy.Video to access your YouTube channel data will be revoked

RecoverMy.Video won't have access to your YouTube channels any more. You can verify your access permissions on the Google Security Permissions Page and revoke your access you gave to RecoverMy.Video at any time.

  • You won't be able to log in to RecoverMy.Video any more

If you're using Google to log in to RecoverMy.Video you can revoke your log in permissions you gave to RecoverMy.Video on the Google Security Permissions Page at any time.

  • There won't be any backup of your recovered video titles

Please do your backup using the Export Tool as soon as possible

  • The RecoverMy.Video website will stay online as a "digital graveyard" for some time after November 30th 2021 (CET).

The main purpose is to keep users informed what happened

  • Will RecoverMy.Video be open sourced?

Currently I have no plans to open source the code. As I've invested so much time I will keep my code private as it could be that YouTube will change their monetization policy. If this should happen I will relaunch RecoverMy.Video.
    Thanks for your understanding.
